Accounting Clerk II

SUMMARY

The Accounting Clerk II at QualiChem supports the Finance & HR department by performing daily administrative accounting and HR tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Accounting/Finance 80%

  • Code and enter invoices to accounts payable once approved by appropriate manager
  • Perform key balance sheet account analysis and reconciliations
  • Assist with monthly closing process, including journal entry creation
  • Mail/email customer statements monthly
  • Cash application for customer payments
  • Process customer credit card payments
  • Initial contact with customers for past-due invoices
  • Misc. filing and office duties
  • Assist with annual audits
  • Perform annual document records retention movements and destruction
  • Additional duties as assigned by Controller

Human Resources 20%

  • Provide recruiting support for non-exempt positions, which includes maintaining and building relationships with staffing agencies
  • Maintenance of personnel files
  • Assist HR Manager in processing timesheets for payroll processing
  • Process and ensure completion of all new hire paperwork, I-9 documents, tax forms, etc.
  • Help plan and execute employee events

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Multi-tasking capability and strong organization skills
  • Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team with flexibility and willingness to learn and to take initiative on variety of tasks and projects
  • Skilled with Office applications and software
  • Solid understanding of data entry
  • Ability to handle confidential business matters and information

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associates Degree in Business Administration or related field and 2-3 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Monday – Friday, 8am – 5:00pm 1 hour lunch
