IT Support Specialist

Summary

QualiChem is seeking an entry level I.T. Support Specialist to join our team. The IT Support Specialist is an entry-level position within the IT Department with primary focus on end user support, hardware/software maintenance, data management, LAN/WAN monitoring and onboarding/offboarding company employees. The IT Support Specialist performs a variety of moderately complex IT support duties.

Essential Job Duties

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Provide first level support to internal and external end users
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve various hardware and software issues
  • Configure new and repurposed desktop and laptop computers
  • Install hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards and printers
  • Install software such as operating systems, ERP systems, and various office applications
  • Connect users to networks and provide initial computer training and application awareness
  • Administer files servers, mail servers, backup servers, database servers and anti-virus systems
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of networking, LANs & WANs, PC’s, and printers
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Knowledge of computer security practices
  • Ability to effectively work with staff members of all computer skill levels
  • Ability to organize work effectively and efficiently
  • Ability to coordinate and work independently in the absence of supervision
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing

Education and/or Experience

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, preferred

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk, hear and use repetitive motion of wrists, hands and fingers. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures and extensive reading and viewing a computer screen. The employee on occasion may be required to exert up to 20 pounds of force to move objects.
